The wild card leading Brewers scored early and often in a game the Cardinals desperately needed to win. The Cards had plenty of good scoring chances early but failed to capitilize on any of them. Ryan Braun blew the game open with a 2-run shot in the 7th to make it 5-0 before the Brewers exploded for 7 more runs in the top of the 9th to route the Cardinals 12-0.
